چکیده

Abstract Background Fibrosarcomatous dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (FS-DFSP) is a form of tumor progression (DFSP) with an increased risk metastasis and recurrence. Few studies have compared the clinicopathological features FS-DFSP conventional DFSP (C-DFSP). Objectives To better understand epidemiological characteristics FS-DFSP. Methods We conducted cohort study 221 patients diagnosed built recognition model back-propagation (BP) neural network for Results Twenty-six 195 C-DFSP were included. There no differences between regarding age at presentation, diagnosis, sex, size growth. The negative ratio CD34 in (11.5%) was significantly lower than that (5.1%) ( P = 0.005). average Ki-67 index (18.1%) cases higher (8.1%) < 0.001). classification accuracy BP training samples 100%. correct rates misdiagnosis 84.1% 15.9%. Conclusions clinical manifestations are similar but large immunohistochemistry. feasibility high

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with fibrosarcomatous transformation*

To the Editor, Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is an uncommon sarcoma of the skin and soft tissue with an intermediate level of malignancy. DFSP with fibrosarcomatous differentiation (FS-DFSP) is a rare variant of DFSP, involving greater aggression, higher rates of local recurrences and a higher metastatic potential. We describe the case of a 70-year-old woman who presented with a painle...

A Fibrosarcomatous ("High-Grade") Variant of Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans (DFSP)

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a relatively uncommon soft tissue tumor with intermediate-to-low grade malignancy. There is usually little nuclear pleomorfism and only low to moderate mitotic activity. Conventional DFSP, usually have fewer than 5 mitotic figures/10 high-power fields. We describe a case of a 74year old male patient who presented to the surgical clinic with active bleed...

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with fibrosarcomatous transformation of the head and neck

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare cutaneous neoplasm associated with a high cure rate. We present a case of aggressive DFSP with fibrosarcomatous areas in the head and neck. A 28-year-old Mediterranean female presented with a 45-day history of rapidly growing cutaneous lesion of the face. Surgical biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of DFSP. Subsequently, the patient underwent wide lo...

Congenital dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans with fibrosarcomatous and myxoid change.

This report describes a case of congenital dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) with fibrosarcomatous (FS) and myxoid areas. Immunohistochemical results showed that tumour cells in ordinary DFSP areas were diffusely positive for CD34, whereas in the FS and myxoid areas, few tumour cells were positive for this antigen. Ki-67 positive tumour cell numbers were greater in the FS (11.8%) and myxoi...

Transformed dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans: a clinicopathological study of eight cases.

BACKGROUND Fibrosarcomatous (FS) or malignant fibrous histiocytomatous (MFH) transformation of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare, but well known, entity. DFSPs with sarcomatous areas have questionable biological behaviour. Several studies suggest that they have a higher risk for local recurrence and distant metastases than ordinary DFSPs. One recent study described no difference ...
